Scholastic Book Orders
I am placing the January orders for Scholastic tomorrow! If you would like to place an order please go to scholastic.com and enter JKKPC.  Scholars will receive the February forms on Monday when they return to school.

Substitute
Scholars will have a substitute on February 2nd and February 4th half day (morning only) as I have professional development training.

Long term substitute
Ms. Hayes will continue to shadow my class and transition to teaching when I go on maternity leave in March. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me or call the school 301-350-6002.

Class field trips
We are still in the process of rescheduling the Health field trip. Date TBA.
We recently were approved for the end of the year 4th grade class trip to Terrapin Adventures. Scholars went last year and had a BLAST!! It is a trip about team building, communication and overcoming obstacles/fears. Scholars will be participating in zip lining, the giant swing and team building activities. Then school and youth field trips
We are doing the Basic Package

The tentative date is Thursday, May 19th, 2016. We are informing parents now, as it is a costly field trip. The cost last year was $50 to include the activities ($35 goes to Terrapin) and the cost of the bus. More information will be forthcoming once the permission slip and all paperwork is finalized.

Parent Volunteers
I am in need of a parent volunteer to make copies, change bulletin boards, and complete filing for student portfolios. If you would like to volunteer, please let me know what day and time works for you.  Thank you. :0)
