Volunteers may elect to do a commercial background check or fingerprinting.  Chaperones for a day trip are only required to undergo the background check.  For an overnight field trip, chaperones must complete a full fingerprint background check and form.
Costs of these Services are:

  • Fingerprinting - $61.07  (This has changed from $63.82) (Last the entire time your child is in PGCPS)
  • Commercial Background Check ($7.00) - Acceptable forms of payment for background checks only include cash, Visa, Mastercard and money orders. Personal checks are not accepted. (Must be done each school year)
  •  Any applicant who requires a "duplicate receipt" of the background check must respond to the Fingerprint Office with proper identification and a $5.00 money order (only). Receipt must be kept on file with your child's school office.

SAVE TIME - Print out your forms here, fill them out and bring them with you!
*Valid photo identification is required to go through any part of these processes.

Advanced Reading Challenge

On Thursday, September 17 @ 5:30 there will a family meeting for all who are interested in finding out more about the Advanced Reading Challenge!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the program, the Advance Reading Challenge is a national reading club that introduces students to award winning books, as well as the classics. Students are then asked to describe their reading using a variety of techniques that will enrich the reading experience. For those who complete the program a fifty dollar Barnes and Noble gift card will be waiting for them!  This year, for some added support, we will be meeting monthly to share and recommend books and just plain read! (snacks will be provided)
Come to the meeting next Thursday and find out more!
Hope we see you there!
