FYIs and Reminders

Report card grades were submitted Monday, January 26.  If you would like to see your child's grades,  please visit SchoolMax. Report cards are scheduled to be released Thursday, February 5th.


The Baltimore Aquarium field trip is this Thursday, February 5th. Please be sure your child arrives to school on time.  If your child is not attending the field trip and plan to attend school, please let us know. 

Now that all Winter assessment testing is complete, STAR Reading and Math reports will be sent home this week.  Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) Lexile scores (Fall & Winter) will be handwritten on the STAR Reading report.  

According to the STEM Fair project timeline, the Procedures and Data Collection components are due tomorrow, February 2.  Also, to stay on schedule, STEM Fair project investigations should begin this week. 

Instead of the Quarterly Oral Recitation, Scholars will write a Character Education Essay.  Scholars will receive more information about this long-term assignment Monday, February 2.

Just a friendly reminder, if you would like to place a scholastic book order, please do so by January 31st! The new order forms for February will be going home next Monday. Thank you for your continued support in the love of reading!:)

Scholastic Books

Attention parents, new Scholastic book order forms were sent home recently. Peruse the catalog and if you would like to order, remember Ms. Carter's and Mrs. Nauman's class code. There are even $1.00 books! You can order online or send in payment to your child's homeroom teacher. Thank you.

BOOK LOVE

I would like to thank all the parents who thought to give their child books as a holiday gift.  Our Scholars were so excited to show me their new novels and could not wait to read them during daily independent reading time.  Independent reading and "buzzing" (ask your child what this means :-)) has become a favorite and sacred time for many Scholars.  Your support in developing or sustaining your child's, their classmates' and my love of books is greatly, greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!
