Gulliver's Travels

This month Fourth Grade Scholars will be reading Gulliver's Travels.   Scholars will use this novel as their independent AND homework reading selection.  The current reading assignment is Part I:  Chapters 3 & 4.  Along with the assigned reading, Scholars will complete a book club discussion sheet that needs to be completed prior to book club meetings.  Book club meetings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Discussion sheets not completed in class need to be completed as homework. Scholars will be assessed on "Preparation" and "Participation."   If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Carter.

Thank you to all the parents who participated in the parent survey I sent home 2 weeks ago! The feedback was very useful. Although I can't please everyone, I can improve upon my weaker areas. Some feedback included:

Some families thought I communicate well, while others thought I need to improve
Updated class blog
Math/science resources so students can practice concepts in which they are struggling
Improvements
More engaging parent teacher conferences
Opportunities for class events involving parents
Child specific feedback

Career Day

Just a reminder the Honor roll assembly for 3rd quarter is tomorrow from 9:45-10:15 am and Career Day is tomorrow from 10:30am-2:00pm. Thank you.

Reminders!!

Just a friendly reminder that fourth grade is reading Flora and Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo in reading class. It is in this month's Scholastic book fair order form for $16. You can place the order online or send payment in with your child. Nauman's class code is JKKPC. Carter's class code is JD4FC. It will help us earn more books for our class library and we all know how much fourth grade is loving book clubs with Ms. Carter!

Also, parent survey's were sent home in Monday folders in order for me, (Mrs. Nauman) to reflect on my teaching practices and your involvement in your child's education. Please take the time to fill it out and return to school. There is an anonymous envelope in my classroom where students will place the surveys. I would like to have all surveys returned to me by April 25th. Thank you for your continued support and critiques to make me become a better teacher. It is much appreciated.
